Korina Barry, MSW

Korina supports CAL through the Birth Justice Collaborative by focusing on policy and systems change to improve maternal health and well-being. She is a citizen of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, a mother, advocate, organizer, and full-spectrum doula.  In addition to supporting CAL and BJC, Korina manages NDN Collective’s organizing, policy and advocacy, non-violent direct action team. Through this work, she leads policy strategy and engagement on the national level. She manages partnerships, builds coalitions, and organizes campaigns. As a trained social worker, Korina supports and advocates for children, youth, and families in Indian Child Welfare. She has worked closely with academic researchers to translate research into policy advocacy and training materials for frontline practitioners, policy stakeholders, and community members. Korina has a Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology and American Indian Studies and a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota.
